We designed a management system for GSE (Gestore dei Servizi Energetici, or Energy Services Manager) aimed at improving the supervision and provision of energy services. The system has two objectives: to increase operational efficiency and to ensure truly inclusive digital access for all users.
1. Role and Background
We oversaw every stage of the interface design and user experience process, from analysing UX flows to creating interactive prototypes. This ensured that accessibility was an integral part of the final product. For visual design, we used Figma, and for validation and optimisation of compliance with accessibility standards, we used tools such as Mauve++, Axe DevTools and Lighthouse.2. Study Accessibility
First, we defined complete UX flows to map user interaction with the management system. We then created structured wireframes and high-fidelity mock-ups in Figma, paying close attention to visual hierarchy and consistency between sections. At the same time, each component underwent systematic accessibility testing. Using Mauve++, Axe DevTools and Lighthouse together enabled us to identify and resolve issues related to contrast, keyboard navigation, semantics and readability.3. UI Optimization
The prototypes were finally validated through usability testing, which allowed for iterative improvement based on real-time feedback.4. Prototyping and Testing
The management system developed for GSE was a significant step forward in terms of improving the efficiency of internal processes and making information more accessible. The final interface is designed to adapt to different levels of technical expertise, facilitating interaction for administrators and less experienced users alike. This project is a prime example of how inclusive design, backed by sophisticated tools, can transform a complex platform into a user-friendly, scalable and forward-looking experience.
