Scope

My work focuses on optimizing the performance of the group’s main e-commerce sites, with a strategic focus on the Core Web Vitals defined by Google. The goal is to ensure a seamless, fast, and high-performance user experience for each brand, improving both perceived speed and actual conversions. The work begins with a detailed analysis of performance metrics—LCP, CLS, FID, TTFB—to identify critical areas and define a customized action plan for each site. I work on both quick optimizations and more in-depth structural interventions, all in synergy with multidisciplinary teams and in continuous alignment with Google engineers.

1. Role and Background

I hold the role of Web Performance Analyst, with the goal of improving the performance and user experience of the e-commerce sites of various brands, including Ray-Ban, Persol, Oliver Peoples, and others. I work across various teams: front-end development, back-end development, UX/UI, and business. I analyze technical performance, translate data into concrete actions, and monitor their impact over time. In my work, I use tools such as ContentSquare, CrUXVis, PageSpeed Insights, WebPageTest, Monetate, mPulse, and Adobe Express to create clear and shareable insights. In parallel, I oversee key projects such as the migration to Shopify for selected brands (e.g., Oliver Peoples, Persol) and am responsible for a funnel optimization initiative aimed at reducing the time between the product page and the addition to the cart.

2. Work Process

My approach is divided into four main phases:

  • Analysis and data collection: I use tools such as PageSpeed Insights, WebPageTest, and CrUXVis to collect objective data on technical performance. At the same time, using ContentSquare, I analyze user behavior to identify bottlenecks in the experience.

  • Prioritization: Issues are mapped and ranked based on their impact on user experience and business. This allows for targeted interventions, from “quick wins” to more structured code and infrastructure interventions.

  • Technical and UX optimization: I collaborate with the development team to optimize critical assets (images, scripts, CSS), implement lazy loading and preloading strategies, and reduce TTFB. At the same time, I work with designers to improve the UI, ensuring a balance between aesthetics and performance.

  • Continuous validation and testing: Each intervention is tested through A/B testing with Monetate and monitored via a real-time dashboard (mPulse). Effective solutions are then scaled up to other brands.

3. Dashboard and UI/UX optimization
