We oversaw the complete restyling of the mobile app dedicated to managing maintenance orders in the field for DEDEM SPA, a leading company in the field of automatic photographic services and digital installations. The main objective was to simplify the app’s functionality for maintenance technicians and ensure it was consistent with company standards.
1. Role and Background
We were responsible for the complete redesign of the app in its 2.0 version. Using Adobe XD, we created new screens, redefined the navigation and reworked the existing mockups, based on the SAP Fiori bookshop. Our approach has been centred on enhancing usability, clarity and visual consistency.2. Main issue
The project involved the modernisation of an existing technical application, with the objective of maintaining its functionality while enhancing its usability. It was imperative to enhance the interface’s intuitiveness, accessibility and consistency with updated visual and navigation standards to optimise support for field operations.3. UI Optimization
A full revision of the initial version of the mockups was conducted, ensuring alignment with the SAP Flower guidelines to maintain consistency across interfaces, semantics and components. Each new screen has been designed with particular attention to the ease of use for operating users on the field, often in conditions of mobility or low connectivity. Adobe XD enabled us to create interactive and visually accurate prototypes, enabling swift validation of stylistic and functional choices. The redesign also addressed the information hierarchy and the structure of interactive flows, with the objective of reducing the number of steps required to complete the main operations.4. Result
The latest version of the app (2.0) has been met with positive feedback, with many users commenting on the significant improvement in accessibility and usability. The technicians now have a more modern, coherent and fast-to-navigate interface, designed to reduce errors and increase productivity on the field. This project confirms that a Redesign intervention, when well-structured and based on a tested framework such as SAP Fiori, can significantly improve the effectiveness of complex operating tools.
