My responsibilities included UI/UX design, and I worked closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, developers, designers, and testers. The project was managed using the agile/scrum methodology, which allowed for rapid iterations and continuous adaptations in response to emerging user needs, ensuring consistent delivery of value.
1. Issue & Goals
Users were unable to access a centralised tool for efficient facility management, which resulted in the adoption of disorganised methods such as phone calls, WhatsApp and Excel spreadsheets. Through interviews and in-depth research, we identified a need for a product that would improve internal communication, facilitate rapid response times and optimise workflow management.2. Proposal
Our vision was to develop a platform that would centralise plant management, improving both communication and operational efficiency. We outlined the customer journey to illustrate in detail the path taken by users, from the detection of an anomaly to the intervention, ensuring a clear and efficient management process.3. Design & Development
We were responsible for the design of the information architecture and the development of wireframes with main sections using Adobe XD. The creation of various low-fidelity prototypes and subsequent testing of their usability, navigation and content clarity was achieved through co-design sessions. Feedback from users was also gathered. During the development phase, we provided detailed specifications and continuous feedback to support the team, ensuring that the design was implemented correctly and met user needs.4. Go live and Testing
The POM platform has been successfully launched in Italy, Greece, Spain and America, and has received positive feedback from users. The system has been shown to have a significant impact on the efficiency of plant monitoring and management processes. Key benefits include reduced emergency response times and enhanced internal communication. This project demonstrated how user-centred design can transform operational management in a complex technological environment.
